The existing concept of the transportation system operation is not in many of its segments adequately suited to the requirements of efficient functioning in all situations. This paper provides recommendations for the improvement of the accepted concept by means of defined internal and external requirements and respective basic objectives for the improvement of the operation concept.
This paper deals with the methods of establishing the quality-related indices for designing the capacities of the internal circulation system at servicing points of a concrete complex system, i.e. the incineration plant in Zagreb. To obtain the solution to the problem defined the theory of queues has been applied in conjunction with the computer simulation models.
This paper deals with some aspects of behavior of road users in -'traffic (conscious and subconscious behavior, operation resulting in a conflicting movement, offenses and errors). In addition to defining the individual types of behavior the paper discusses their causes, aspects of their manifesting, incidence ('black figures”), consequences as well as the possibilities of using the results of road user’s behavior survey in the society reaction system.
Traffic can in certain circumstances cause chaos in the system of traffic network manifested as gridlocks, saturation, bumper- to-bumper traffic, traffic accidents and similar. All this may have further repercussions on general and individual mobility, problems in provisioning of industries and population, additional costs, etc. In all situations we must have available the best-suited strategy of control and management to make the traffic reliable, speedy, economic and adequate to meet the needs. This paper deals with the model of distribution of traffic flows on the system of roads and streets by means of the method of linear programming and organisation. of compilation and processing of traffic information towards an optimal decision- making in the process of traffic management and control.
Transport technology of shipment and trans-shipment of freight by modern means and procedures and thus by means of containerization as a subsystem of integrated transport mode has over the past three decades exhibited an upward development trend. At an equal pace have proceeded manufacturing pl containers of different sizes, purpose and technology. Present annual production in the world has reached the figure of 500 000. Only in sea shipping industry of the world the existing capacities have reached the figure of 7 million t eu containers. Big containers, of 40 feet_ and over, are coming off the production line, while only a couple of years ago this could not have been reported. This has in turn its impact on the need for the introduction of modern port container handling cranes capable of lifting up to 600 kN (60 t) of load. Owing to an increased demand for containers in the world marketplace of transport services the leasing-oriented container manufacturing has been on the increase. Manufacturing of sophisticated container types has been under consideration to include chips for purposes of electronic monitoring of container flows in the transportation process.
Regularity of economic reproduction is present even in the area of postal traffic - i.e. the postal infrastructure. The process of depreciation represents the transfer of a portion of the worth into a new product or service and has the character of cost which the user must pay in full. For him to be able to bear the charges these values must be in the first place well-grounded. This paper defines the moments which have caused the implementation of a non-consistent policy of assessment of unrealistic depreciation and in this revalorization of postal traffic infrastructure. Depreciation has the central role in the process of reproduction of postal infrastructure i.e. the overall postal traffic while the revalorization makes the basis for the assessment of the current value which if not known makes impossible the evaluation of the actual worth of depreciation and completion of economic reproduction of postal traffic i.e. the infrastructure of postal traffic. This regularity of pattern is imminent to the overall traffic system and economic life of any country.
This paper deals with respective diagnosing parameters for establishing the cylinder wear condition. The amplitude of cylinder acceleration at dominant frequencies and the moment of the piston stroke in to the cylinder expressed by the angle of the crankshalt have been analysed as the diagnosing parameters. The accuracy of the obtained diagnosing parameters has been tested. This property is of major importance, because if missing, the selected diagnosing parameter cannot be used in a reliable manner for establishing the value of the structural parameter. The accuracy of delined diagnosing parameters has been tested in an experiment for different values of the engine cylinder wear condition.
